One of the best speeches you will hear this year: Jill Bolte Taylor at TED
The video of Jill Bolte Taylor's amazing speech at the TED 2008 conference two weeks ago -- a neuroanatomist experiencing and observing her own stroke and using the story to explain the functioning of the brain (I liveblogged it here) -- is now available online (you can download it here). It's doubtlessly one of the best speeches you will hear this year, complete with the most audaciously cool prop: a real human brain.

It really is amazing when people in their science field experience and learn from an illness that they are studying, it brings them true insight! I'm so glade Jill was able to share it with the world so others can learn from it as well. I know it gave me greater understanding of how our brain works. Keep up the great work at TED :-)

Very truly great speech!
You can feel that she lived what she is talking about. Her body language is pure Energy synchronized with Logic, a strong example of what our brain and body can do when it is aware of its full communication potential.
