  • For "fostering participation in policy-making decisions through innovative mechanisms". The system can cope with voting from the Internet, cell phones, and interactive TV. (From SwissInfo)
  • The World Wide Web will soon be absorbed into the World Wide Sim: an environment combining elements of Second Life and Google Earth. (MIT Tech Review - thx SK for the link)
  • Walt Mossberg, the WSJ tech columnist, has tested the Apple iPhone (which will go on sale tomorrow Friday in the US) for two weeks. "On balance, a beautiful and breakthrough handheld computer ... software sets a new bar". With some downsides.
  • The job of policing the Web has been left by default to Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, the firms with the most trafficked websites. Their work, alone or in concert, will likely define what security can be expected for e-mail, purchases, bill payment etc.
  • A video report by David Pogue of the New York Times looking at the features of the new iPhone. There is a bit of fun at the beginning, but watch it past the second minute and you get to see all the features. (thx Isaiah for the link)
